Hello!
My name is Amanda Field. This year, I am teaching English II, English III, and English III Honors. I am also the co-sponsor for Student Council. My Master's degree is in Teaching of Writing. I also hold a post-baccalaureate certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. I earned my Master's and Bachelor's degrees, as well as my TESL certificate, from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. While earning my Master's, I taught English 101 and 102 at SIUE. I have also taught at the following institutions: Rend Lake College, Brown Mackie College, Vatterott College, Highland High School (and the Highland school district), Waterloo High School, and the East St. Louis Higher Education Center. I have been teaching since 2010. I have taught a range of classes from developmental college writing courses to dual-credit/university level English courses. I have worked with students age five and up. ....and I do mean up! I have experience with high school, university, and adult learners. I also have experience with native and non-native speakers of English. Over the summer, my boyfriend and I purchased our first home in Springfield, Illinois. As a Springfield native, it feels good to be back in central Illinois! I LOVE technology, my cats, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Doctor Who (just to name a few interests). I am a huge proponent for social and emotional health, mental health awareness, and open communication. Let's go, Titans! |
